May is Pregnancy Awareness Month

Healthy Child Healthy World Board Member Anna Getty will host the 2nd Annual Pregnancy Awareness Month (PAM) in May.
PAM is dedicated to spreading awareness and education around the experience of being pregnant, and understanding how simple lifestyle changes can help foster a safe and healthy pregnancy.
The theme of the month is broken down into four initiatives – education, exercise, nutrition & wellness, and nurture. During May, each week will highlight one of the four initiatives through a newsletter and a wealth of information on the website. Visit the site and sign up for the newsletter, which will be packed with tips, recipes, articles, and inspiration. And Anna will be blogging for Healthy Child during the month of May, so stay tuned for a lot of great information heading your way!
PAM’s kick-off event, “Motherhood Begins Now”, will be held on May 2nd in Los Angeles. Attendees will be treated to panel discussions with pregnancy and child development experts (including our Executive Director Christopher Gavigan), a maternity fashion show, a delicious organic lunch, Mommy spa services, young children’s activities, and mommy-related & green product placement.
Hosted by Anna, Ricki Lake, Kelly Rutherford, and Josie Maran, the event is designed to inspire and provide expectant women and families the tools and information to connect with and enjoy their pregnancies. Held at Little Dolphins in Santa Monica, a portion of the proceeds from this FREE weekend event will benefit Healthy Child Healthy World. It should be a wonderful day of family-friendly fun, so if you are in the LA area, please plan on attending!
