"Ten Americans": We all know pollution and toxins are bad for you. But the Environmental Working Group has conducted perhaps the deepest analysis of this issue on the most vulnerable demographic on the planet.

As an avid researcher for my son’s recovery from autism, I can attest that these facts are actual. Wish I had saved my son’s placenta to know what chemicals were in his system. A year ago, our family was using toxic cleaning chemicals, eating non-organic food, etc. We have completely gone to the other side in order to save our son. Autism recovery is possible, but not without wisdom and sacrifice! Just wish I had known about all of this while I was pregnant with him. Thank you, EWG! Keep up the excellent work!

Thank you EWG for bringing this most important health issue to the public’s awareness. So glad a third party representation of the facts about chemicals in our daily used personal care and beauty cosmetics. I am the Director of the Cancer Prevention Coalition for Los Angeles and give seminars to the public on awareness of avoidable risks of cancer and illness from daily used chemicals.

Excellent video - it does show that personal care products can significantly add to your total chemical load.

Thank you so much for this!!!!!!! I agree 110% that yes the law needs to be changed. These toxins are literally killing us and our children. How can they get away with this? THE LAW NEEDS TO CHANGE!!!!!!

I really agree with most of what has been said in here and I do agree that the law should be changed. Also Kecia keep pushing you will make results for sure. My brother was born with autism, I was too young to remember a lot of it. Want I do remember was him acting just like everyone else, he ended up graduating high school just like everyone else. I would also recommend reading the book “Rising Son.”

This is an extremely important health issue which I’m grateful that EWG has brought it up. It’s time that people, everyone to do something about this problem with pollution and toxics. A small change in the law is also a good alternative but of course, not enough. Thanks for putting this video up.

I read recently that there has been a significant increase in death at birth, this same research found that those women whose children were still born, were also like to die within the first 12 months after their pregnancy. The findings were primarily caused by lack of healthy nutrition, limited or no health service and a general state of poverty. This is the USA in 2011!

I had no idea about this major issue, thanks to EWG for bringing it to everyone’s attention. Hopefully the White House and Congress will work towards making things better. I understand that adults would have some of these chemicals in their blood but the fact it’s in babies in the womb is extremely worrying. More needs to be done to cut down pollutants and to establish a free universal health care in the US.

This just makes you realize how much of these harmful chemicals that are in everyday products we use are doing to all of us! It is a real eye opener as to how BROKEN the regulatory system for introducing new chemicals into products is and how much of a drastic decline there is in childrens health in recent years. I know this first hand because my daughter started having seizures at age 15 after being exposed to formaldehyde unknowinly in our home for 10 months.
I shudder to imagine if she had been an infant when this happened to her. Thanks EWG for all your research. I hope and pray that one day things will be safer for our children.
