not bad for a small scale of unwanted weeds

Excellent tip. I just saw on Jon & Kate Plus 8 that you can use 1 part vinegar, 4 parts water to make an in-home all-purpose cleaner. I will add your weed killer mix to my “safe” chemical cupboard! Thanks!!

I have been doing this for years, I usually leave out the salt, but it is quick and all safe.

Viinegar works to kill weeds, especially on hot, sunny days. Put straight white vinegar in a spray bottle, and set the nozzle on “stream” instead of “spray” and shoot the weeds with the vinegar, making sure not to get it on the stuff you don’t want to kill.

Very good tips. It works for most types of weeds, but not all. Pulling by the roots after a shower also helps.

Vinegar is a known herbicide. Even if you use the regular vinegar used at your home that will also work very good to kill weeds. Now it has been one of the most preferred organic means of killing weeds that are readily available for organic gardeners.

I don’t doubt that this is an effective weed killer but it will only work smaller fields, it’s definitely not suitable in agriculture. Nevertheless I would try that on my flowers, just to see how it really works.

im going to give this a go as my garden is getting taken over by weeds cant get rid of them at all ..

Just be careful not to change ph or salinity of your soil.  Also, there are so many living organisms in the soil that we don’t consider~ I’d use this on weeds in cement cracks but not on a flower bed, vegetable garden or any earth that I cared about.  ;*)

I’m to try this out once it gets warm around here. I have tried just about everything on my gravel driveway and it seems like nothing is working. I really don’t want to use harsh chemicals, so this will be my next step after that I am going to have it paved lol.

Boiled hot water can also be used directly on the weeds. It is a slow process, but one that does the job for small areas and quick fixes.
