Jen Rabulan-Bertram

The Next Kid Thing

After spending nearly 10 years as a magazine editor, Jen Rabulan-Bertram has gone from interviewing the Joint Chiefs of Staff to picking the brains of kiddie favorites such as the Imagination Movers. A year after having her son, Jen decided to take a leap, follow her passion and write on her own terms. Those terms led to a kid-centric blog, aptly titled, The Next Kid Thing.

Like most people, family is her main influence for environmental health. Growing up with parents who composted before she realized other people did such a thing, awareness about the environment seemed as instinctive as motherhood. With a brother whose doctor deemed him "allergic to the world," and noticing her own child to have similar traits, Jen sought safer and greener alternatives to products with unpronounceable ingredients.

Jen currently lives with her husband and 2 year old son in Hoboken, NJ. In addition to covering noteworthy products and topics for kids on The Next Kid Thing, Jen is a freelance writer who has written about topics ranging from travel, business, environmentalism and soon, all about her family's transition to the NJ suburbs. She also blogs at
