Buy fresh or frozen, not canned, foods. Bisphenol-A (BPA), used to line most cans, is a chemical associated with cancer, reproductive and nervous system disorders, and even depression in young girls. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) banned the use of BPA in baby bottles and sippy cups, but it's still widely used in canned foods. Ban the can unless it's marked "BPA-Free."
