Choose personal care products that are fragrance-free. Testing has revealed the average fragrance product has 14 secret chemicals not listed on the label. Some of the most common components of fragrance are hormone-disrupting phthalates, as well as sensitizers, which may set off allergic reactions and asthma. Check ingredients lists and look for products that don’t have any artificial "fragrance" or "parfum."
