Mercy Ritte is fighting for food freedom in Hawaii, educating other mothers about the danger of genetically modified (GMO) foods and operations. She and her family live downwind of Monsanto's fields on the island of Molokai. When, after a dust storm, her son fell ill, she made it her mission to learn why GMO test crops are being planted on her island and if the chemicals being used are safe. Monsanto has refused to disclose to her what they are spraying, so she joined forces with local groups to protest Monsanto and to promote more sustainable farming. Learn more here.
