Nominate a Mom on a Mission®!

This year we’re excited to be celebrating our 5th annual Mom on a Mission® campaign, which honors moms who have made a commitment to stand up for children’s health-starting with their own families and then reaching out to their communities. The program aims to recognize all that moms do to make the world a better place as women, consumers, thought leaders and role models for future generations. To find our moms, we accept nominations highlighting women who are making a difference from all over the U.S.
We’re off to a great start with nominations for our 2023 winner. Our first finalist, Corey Colwell-Lipson, founded the organization Green Halloween in 2007 after realizing the holidays had become synonymous with junk. She used a holiday in need of a major health and eco-makeover to provide moms everywhere with the tools and resources to create safer celebrations. Our second finalist, the journalist Florence Williams, began writing about environmental health issues after testing her breast milk for flame retardants and pesticides. The experience became the basis for her 2023 book, Breasts: A Natural and Unnatural History. And our third finalist, Katy Perry, is the director of programs at the non-profit organization Green Schools Alliance.
Corey, Florence, and Katy are just three of nine finalists we will recognize this year for exemplifying our mission in their own communities. It just takes one person and one change to spark a revolution. Do you know of someone in your community who should be included? Someone who is creating change and empowering others by taking action to protect children from harmful chemicals? Nominate a mom (or yourself!) who fits the bill by filling out this form.
Then please stop back in January, when we will kick off a two-week online community voting period to choose our 2023 Mom on a Mission® winner. If you happen to be in Los Angeles in January, you can also come to a ceremony in honor of the chosen winner. But we’re getting ahead of ourselves. For now, we can’t wait to read about the women you send our way.
